Ever since our photoshoot in Positano in 2018 we have longed to go back to Italy for another location shoot, so we were so excited to embark on this trip. Capri was decided for the location because it's such a special and magical place, with so many iconic features that would make the perfect backdrop for our summer campaign. Having said that it's certainly not the easiest location. Being a tiny Island with no airport everything is double the price- but we thought if we are going to do it, lets do it right! Jo, our office manager accompanied us to help out and our lovely friend Fiona Mchugh came along too, always fun to be around and so helpful.
We selected some beautiful pieces of clothing to take with us for the model, we were thinking chic but fun riviera looks- lightweight candy coloured tweed from Lisa Marie Fernandez, fun retro prints from La Double J and dreamy Zimmermann pieces.
We decided to use the same team that we used in Positano- Santangelo Studios based in Naples. We know they are amazing to work with, and they take charge of everything with is so important when shooting abroad. The team consisted of our model Rosalba Diprisco, MUA Emanuel Perisano, tour guide Luca to navigate us through the day smoothly, the talented and inspirational photographer & videographer Diego Santangelo and a few helpful assistants.
Before we went we told the team all of the iconic dream places we wanted to shoot and got together our mood board- some were quite tricky due to the crowds of tourists, but the team assured us anything was possible and that they would make it happen.
We met at 9am at the Funicolare Bar in Capri town, this is a small bar with amazing views just by where you get off the Funicular- and this was where the model was to have her hair and make up done and get dressed for the first shot.

Luca made sure the owner of the bar was fine with this arrangement and we cracked on with a breakfast of warm croissants, hot coffee and lots of excited chat about the day ahead. The sun was shining and the sky was blue, which was a HUGE relief as there had been a storm the day before, quite unusual for Capri at that time of year.

Working breakfast
After breakfast we headed to the fruit stand nestled within the streets of Capri. For the first shot Rosalba was wearing the pink tweed trousers and matching top by Lisa Marie Fernandez and a headscarf from our talented cousin Gemma at fortune's favour. When you think of Capri style a head scarf instantly comes to mind, so all of her scarfs and bows were used throughout the shoot and they complimented the outfits perfectly. We choose our Sicilian Heart Earrings and Rose Quartz Necklace as the focal point for this look.
Ready to start!
First scene- the fruit seller stand
For the campaign we were not only doing stills but also film, it was important for us to get the fun feel of Capri so Rosalba interacted with the fruit seller and had some fun! Holding back the crowds while this took place wasn't easy, but luckily most people were happy to wait and watch while we worked. At our next location though this wasn't so easy....
The next location was Gelateria Buonocore at the centre of capri where all the action is happening. A famous ice cream shop in the centre of Capri, it's on a main walkway and always absolutely packed, but we wanted to shoot here because it's an iconic location and has been here for many years, you cant come to Capri without sampling their ice cream! There are always queues so we had to wait our turn and shoot while the model purchased the ice cream, in between tour groups passing through, luggage and the odd mattress.... Luca had his work cut our here holding back the traffic and convincing the sellers allow us to shoot! Rosalba changed into the Large Florissima Earrings for this shot.

We a quick change into a yellow polkadot twinset from Zimmermann and white Aje shorts, along with our new Crystal Heart Cord Necklace and Dolce Heart Earrings and on to the next location- the granita stand. Situated on the walk up to Augustus Gardens, it's the spot to stop at and get a refreshing granita, brightly decorated with majolica and huge lemons its traditional Italian at its best. Another tricky one though, having to wait between crowds, but we got the perfect shot and headed off up to the Augustus Gardens with our delicious lemon granitas to keep us going.

Another change in the gardens, this time into a majolica inspired dress from La Double J and our Mini Santina Earrings and charm, and Majolica Hoop Earrings which would compliment the vista of the famous Faraglioni rocks in the background, and on the tiled bench that sits within the garden. The Augustas Gardens has the most amazing view over the rocks looking out to see, Rosalba perched on the wall while the photographer worked his magic, the rest of the crew sat away as professional photo shoots are not allowed in the gardens so we had to keep it low key.

Next the studio arranged a bus complete with personalised snack packs to take us a short ride away to Marina Piccolla. A charming marina with views of the famous rocks, brightly coloured stripy umbrellas, rustic beach and vintage style restaurants. After the most amazing work lunch at Bagni Internazionali of fresh pasta and seafood we were re-fulled and ready for part 2.

The restaurant kindly set a table away from us to use for the next shot, and staged it with a bowl of lemons, bread basket, wine and spaghetti Vongole. The model slipped into a paisley pale green shirt with matching shorts from Zimmermann and the stage was set perfectly for our next shot. We paired our new Pearl Crystal Cross Earrings and cord necklace for the perfect laid back glamour. With the umbrellas and rocks in the background, this shot has to be one of my favourites, it's just so Capri.
Rosalba tucks in!
After a quick change into a terry towelling yellow swimsuit from Lisa Marie Fernandez (you cannot do a shoot in Capri without a bit of terry towelling!) and a few shots on the retro stripped sun bed we headed off on a boat to get some nautical shots.
Rosabla wearing a Fortunes Favour headscarf
We had the perfect nautical dress for this screen- a boat printed lined dress from Zimmermann and our Antica shell jewels to compliment the look. There was singing as we bobbed around on the sea, true Italian style and a bit of clapping as we sailed through the Faraglioni rocks.

We had another perfect look for the boat so Rosabla had another outfit change. We used a changing poncho for all the location changes- a bit like a portable changing room. The next look was a striking orange stiped swimsuit with matching wide leg trousers from La Double J and our Solare Charm and Earrings.
With the day drawing to an end and the sun beginning to set, we had one more look to complete, a dreamy cheesecloth checked skirt and blue halter neck seersucker bikini top by Lisa Marie Fernandez, complete with our White Enamel Ariel Earrings. The last shot of her walking along the marina feels dreamy with the hazy sun setting on the distance.
And thats a wrap! There was a dash for the last ferry for the crew, who worked so hard throughout the day. I always feel so privileged to be part of a shoot like this, it's inspirational, exciting and just so fascinating to watch how they work.
Jo, Fiona, Francesca and I hopped into an open topped taxi, put the tunes on and had a little taxi party, before heading out for a celebratory meal and cocktails at Villa Verde. A day well spent on the Island of Capri!
Love Francesca and Marianna xx
